Register with MDES

Before MDES can help you do anything--whether you are looking for a new job or filing a claim to get your weekly unemployment benefits--you have to register with MDES.

If you are not already registered with MDES,  you may register using our Online Services.

It’s easy to follow the directions and there are so many job openings listed, that you’re sure to find one that works for you. If you do not have a computer or access to one, the public libraries in Mississippi have computers you may use to register with MDES and look for a job.  The WIN Job Centers  also have computers you may use. Our employment representatives are there to help if you need assistance.

On the MS Works Mobile App
The MS Works App is the gateway to services from Mississippi Works and the Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES) on your mobile or tablet device. This intuitive, native app provides a convenient way to search and apply for jobs, register with MDES, build an employment profile, and see job match information. In addition, the app allows you to find the nearest WIN Job Center for in-person services.

At the WIN Job Center
If you do not have access to a computer, you may visit your local WIN Job Center. Our employment representatives will be there to assist you with registration, and they can also show you how to use the computers at the WIN Job Center.
