Equal Opportunity

Equal Opportunity Department

The Equal Opportunity (EO) Department assists the administrative staff to ensure compliance with Equal Opportunity and non-discriminatory laws in all phases of MDES' operation, which includes implementing and complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.

The EO Department updates and maintains the Non-Discrimination Plan (NDP). The NDP is intended to enhance the Department's compliance with U.S. Department of Labor regulations and with other federal agencies that assist our staff in providing services in an equitable manner to its customers.

The EO Department develops procedures for office and department reviews to ensure that equitable services are provided in regard to nondiscrimination and equal-opportunity requirements as mandated by state and federal laws of the U.S. Department of Labor. These procedures are more specifically designed to facilitate the resolution of allegations of discrimination.
