Mississippi Department of Employment Security, in conjunction with our WIOA partners, provides a wide variety of programs and resources to the Mississippi community. Please note that the list of partner services below is not a comprehensive list. Other services provided in the WIN Job Centers are addressed throughout this Web site.


Local Workforce Development Boards

The state's four Local Workforce Development Boards, Delta, Mississippi Partnership, South Central Mississippi Works, and Twin Districts, offer wide range of training and related services for adult, youth and dislocated workers. Please select a link to view the specific services offered.

Career Counseling & Planning

Community Colleges - Provide “Intensive Services” including diagnostic testing, use of career assessment tools and skills evaluation.

Job Placement For People With Disabilities

Department of Rehabilitation Services - Provides services designed to improve economic opportunities for individuals with physical and mental disabilities through employment.

Services For People With Disabilities

Department of Rehabilitation Services - Services includes transportation, rehabilitation technology, including vehicular modification, telecommunication, sensory and other technological services.

Training For People With Disabilities

Department of Rehabilitation Services - Assists individuals with disabilities with gaining and retaining employment, as well as living more independently.

Economic Development Services

Mississippi Development Authority - Provides a variety of services to existing in-state industries and potential incoming industries.

Job Placement Services

Applied Technology Systems - Provides placement assistance for Job Corps graduates.

Reemployment Services (Rapid Response)

Mississippi Department of Employment Security, Office of Reemployment Assistance - Provides an early intervention service that assists both employers and employees affected by layoffs or plant closures. MDES leads the team that includes the community and junior colleges and the Local Workforce Development Areas.

Training & Education (Post-Secondary, Vocational & Technical Programs)

Community & Junior Colleges - Provides academic, vocational, and technical training.

Training For Mature Workers (55 and older)

Experience Works - Provides a wide variety of computer-skills and technology-training services, as well as, other job-related training programs.

GED Preparation

Mississippi’s Community and Junior Colleges - Provide GED classes to all citizens.

Educational Counseling (all levels)

Mississippi’s Community and Junior Colleges - Recruit individuals of all educational levels and assist them in obtaining a GED, vocational training or a college degree.
